In the American version it was a laboratory, in the UK version it was a lighthouse and in the French version it was a bakery. What is it and which version did Australians see?

"Fraggle Rock." But I have no idea what version the Aussies saw.

There do seem to be a number of "Fraggle Rock" fans in Australia. I'm reading between the lines of one discussion I encountered, but it looks as though they probably saw the American version. That's just an inference, though, Gmack.

Yay Lanfraggle! I've just tried Googling "laboratory", "lighthouse" and "bakery" to see if this was easy to find. Not really so did you know that?
Anyway, the answer was indeed the Fraggles link to "Outer Space".
Here is what the Great Trash Heap (aka Wikipedia) has to say about it, although it doesn't mention that there was also a German version of the human sections (I don't know where these were set):

Actually, I didn't know it, and I can't tell you how many attempts I made at this. However, a certain individual in my household has, among other things, a graduate degree in Information Science, and he's taught me quite a lot about the logic of Boolean searches.

Remembering that song, I seem to recall the steam and bubbles of multi-coloured beakers and test-tubes 'down in Fraggle Rock'.....Mind you back in those days I was a Sesame Street girl at heart and these guys just didn't cut the mustard.

Can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street?

I'm surprised they can get away with Sesame Street in these days of allergy consciousness...
