What is the area of a "section" of farmland in Canada's prairie provinces called: one acre, one hectare, or one square mile?

    Question #57136. Asked by nickers1184. (May 10 05 4:20 PM)

Far as I know, Canadians still describe their sections of land as 640 acres, or an area of 43,560 square feet. This is also the measurement of one square mile.
