On this list (which purports to be comprehensive) of all the UK number 1 singles, number 448 was number 1 on 1 Jan 1980 and number 638 held the top slot on 31 Dec 1989. If you mean the name of the artist was also a #1 hit then "Survivor" wasn't such a hit until 2001. May 11 05, 6:01 PM
