Well, not just that. Plenty of events in the Bible took 40 days. Moses went up to Mt. Sinai for three stretches of 40 days each. Elijah traveled for 40 days until reaching the same mountain. Jonah announced that Ninveh had 40 days before being destroyed (an event which didn't come, unless you use an alternate translation of what Jonah actually said). The spies in the book of Numbers spent 40 days gathering information about the Promised Land (and for their malicious report those days were punished by 40 years of wandering). And that's just what I can think of offhand. I wonder what else I might think up when the sun rises (it is currently 2:26am where I'm sitting).

Hi, a math question.....how many grooves were on one side of a 45 RPM that lasted 2 minutes and 27 seconds?

According to the census bureau the US loses and gains population at this rate for a net gain of on person every 13 seconds. Every 8 seconds=1 birth. Every 12 seconds=1 death. Every 29 seconds=1 what?

Every few years, I hear about some new person who just broke the 100 meter record, from something like 10.01 seconds, to 9.89 seconds, to 9.77 seconds, to now 9.76 seconds. Is there a humanly possible limit to just how fast a human can run 100 meters, and could part of the record keeping be inaccurate due to the timing (of a hundredth of a second!)?
