Following on from lanfranco's question, and because I had never heard of this word before today, what is a blurb?

    Question #57346. Asked by centerice.

    gmackematix

In its original meaning it was all that self-promoting guff on the jacket of a book.
In the modern sense, if you click on people's usernames on this site, an self-description they have offered is their blurb.
This says more on the origins of the word:

And, centerice, you have one: "Be very, very careful what you put into that head ...."

lanfranco, now I realize I've heard of it.
Sigh, I'm going to go ride the zamboni some more.
