The magnetic north pole travelled about 1100 km in the last hundred years. It is moving north-west and accelerating, being currently near Ellef Ringness Island in the Queen Elizabeth Islands off Canada. If the magnetic pole carried on moving at its current rate it would be in Siberia in 50 years but it is thought to be about to slow down.
