According to a recent survey (where the answers were published in a well-read Broadsheet paper in the UK), which 3 countries have the highest percentages of obese children?

I think my first answer involves the total obese population, rather than just children.
Here's another site where the United States doesn't take the cake, so to speak:
While 15% of children in the United States are overweight, the percentage of overweight children in some European countries is even higher, with 36% of children in Italy, 30% in Spain, 22% in the UK, 18% in Denmark, France and Sweden being overweight (source: USAToday article).

It isn't Mexico, McG, and it isn't any of the countries you have mentioned in your second entry either. It is more to do with obesity than being overweight, also.
Any more takers?

Just in case anyone doesn't know, obesity is based on body mass index (BMI). BMI is mass in kilos divided by the square of a person's height in metres. If this is 30 or more then a person is classed as obese.
As well as the EU's report on increasing obesity in European children, I have also come across reports of how it is increasing in China and India. I can't say I've found the list you state. I suppose it's probably in the Telegraph or Guardian, now the Times and Indy have gone tabloid.
