Possibly Madame du Barry, whose deeply-distressed last moments on the guillotine are thought to have helped convince the French populace that maybe executing aristocrats wasn't such fun after all. She said, "Excuse me, Monsieur Executioner, just a little moment, please."

Nice One! Yep ol' Louis had a string of babes happening and she was the one I had in mind. Can you tell me what was His Majesty's favourite dish which was named after her?

Oh she was fond of the cauliflower, yes. It was 'Du Barry Cream Soup' that he favoured.
To me a cauliflower should be dressed up a bit with some sort of, um, taste. Surprisingly alot of people seem to like boiled to death mush. ;)
