    In a recent popular movie which film star played a character who had to pretend to be him or herself? Are there any other movies where a star has done this?

    		Well, there was "Being John Malkovich," one of those interesting efforts from Charlie Kaufman. I'm not sure what recent film you're referring to, but I'll look into it.

    		Oceans' Twelve. Julia Robets pretended to be Julia Roberts.

    		Yay Eytank. In "Being John Malkevich" I think he just played himself (although it might not have been a very true version of himself).
    In last year's "Oceans Twelve", Julia Roberts played Tessa Ocean who, at one point, had to pretend to be Julia Roberts.
    I'm sure this must have happened in a movie before but I couldn't give an example.
