We have some odd discussions at work, hence the following. If someone with a tattoo were to rapidly put on a lot of weight would the tattoo dye fade under the stretched skin?

You'd think so wouldn't you! There was an episode of Mythbusters a few weeks ago, that was trying to see if the ink used in tattoos would explode if the owner needed an MRI. That's a scary thought. (it didn't, by the way)

Adam and Jamie could have saved themselves a lot of work if they had called me, or any other tattooed athlete.
G, if I ever rapidly gain weight, I'll let you know what happens to my tattoos.

I'm not sure, as the stretching of the tattoo might be countered by the effect of the tattoo being seen more clearly through the stretched skin.
