Which single word in Latin or Ancient Greek has had the most English words derive from it?

    Question #58163. Asked by gmackematix.

    lanfranco

Just for fun, I'm going to venture a couple of guesses, as I expect others will be doing:

    Centum, for hundred, in Latin.
    Phobos, for fear, in Greek.

The latin word 'ex' means out of.

The latin word 'sub' means under.

These both have produced many derivatives.

I'd better say that this was an enquiry rather than a poser.
Logos - Greek for word and grapho - Greek for write must also be quite high.

How about excluding prefixes (and prepositions)? Otherwise, Latin "in" would surely be the easy winner.
