A previously-unknown work by a major master has recently been discovered, but its owner will never be able to exhibit it, except indirectly. What is it?

Are we talking about the Piamontini bronze to be offered at Christies on Thursday?

No, but for having come up with that, I'll give you a yay anyway, robboy. Very few people bother with 17th-century Florentine bronzes.

A few years ago, a painting attributed (somewhat dubiously) to a major Italian master was prevented from leaving the U.K. by a national campaign. Now, another painting, this time a portrait, by that artist is about to appear on the auction block. What is the work about to be sold, who painted it and whom does it depict, and what was that earlier work? An illustration of either painting would be welcomed.
