Why does a candle smell like it's burning after you blow it out?

When you blow air away from the base of a candle air rushes inwards to replace it pulling smoke with it. This causes a rush of smoke towards you so increasing the smell. A similar thing happens if you are a non-smoker and you try the waft away the fumes from a nearby smoker. Smoke then breezes in your direction to replace the smoke you have wafted making the situation worse. Jul 10 05, 6:14 AM
