    A famous Sahara Desert landmark was the 'Tree of Tenere', until in 1974 it was knocked down by a truck! the Niger Government, recognising the historical and practical significance of the tree, had a metal 'tree' made to replace the original. Does anyone know who the sculptor of this 'metal tree' was?

    Picqero, I did find this very interesting picture, but I couldn't locate anything about the artist. If you do come up with some information, I'd like to know about it.

    I'm sure the "Guinness Book of Records" always claimed that the world's remotest tree was actually hit by a French truck driver.
    From this article it looks bizarrely like it was hit by a truck more than once.
