J.K. Rowling has the world's attention now, but in this first and very punny book of a certain fantasy series, a young man is exiled to the world of the "mundane" because he has no talent. After going on a quest and meeting the (unusually fickle) love of his life, he discovers that he possesses the greatest talent of all. What is this book, and who wrote this charming series?

Piers Anthony wrote "A Spell for Chameleon," one of the Xanth novels in 1977.

    Yay, Josh!

The multiple award-winner, "A Spell for Chameleon," was the first of Anthony's "Xanth" novels and is filled with interesting linguistic tricks. I've given it to several young friends and relatives, always with excellent results.

In the 1970s Victoria Wood was beaten in a television talent show series by Marti Caine. What was the title of that talent show? I think it was New Faces, but can't prove it one way or the other.

I'm looking for the name of a TV mini series movie/show. We had rented them from the video store. It's about a boy who is traveling to different worlds looking for pieces of a machine to get him back home (I think.) He is gathering something along his way. He travels to different worlds with a "professor" and maybe another person. Along the way he visits 5-8 different worlds (each was a different movie.) They were all entitled "Somebody and the Land of ???" One world had to do with giant eggs, one world a town of toys, and the end was a land something like a fantasy "Camelot." My children watched these movies anywhere from 1988 - 1993. I'm hoping someone can help me end my frazzled search.

Which British TV series of the nineties was based on a series of books and was produced by the author's son? Why did the village in which the series was filmed have an entry in the UK edition of "The Guinness Book of Records"?
