I have one of these! I had an operation as a child, which failed to correct the squint in my eye. I still have the little band I wore round my wrist, which states "Correction of right Strabismus". Squints usually turn outwards, as opposed to crossed eyes looking inwards. I believe the operation success rates of curing these are a lot better these days. Jul 24 05, 11:54 AM

Well, Pop, one of history's great artists had the same condition -- Giovanni Francesco Barbieri (1591-1666), called "Guercino" because of his squint. It didn't slow him down any. Jul 24 05, 12:45 PM

Many children wear patches over their eyes because of this - lazy eye. Unfortunately it very often makes them a cause of ridicule amongst peers. Jul 24 05, 4:06 PM
