In one of those standard trivia lists, complete with myths about non-echoing ducks and once green Coca Cola, I read that 24 mammals produce milk that can be made into edible cheese. Is this one true and which mammals fit that criterion?

Well I guess I'll be scrounging about to get 24 but I can offer cows, sheep, llamas, water buffalo, deer, and goats for a start.

...and zebu, camels, yak, elk, caribou, and mares...

I must see if I can pick up some zebu cheese from my local Kwiksave. As for mares, we have several horses around here but I'd be a bit weary of milking one. Is the cheese worth the effort?

I meant "wary". I don't suppose I can blame extra letters on my keyboard.

Reindeer cheese!
Of course, I understand the French don't think much of it.

The Israeli government has considered making giraffe cheese and other giraffe milk products for people who suffer from allergies to cow's milk and goat's milk. (The giraffe is a kosher animal, but it is impossible to slaughter one. Still, nobody's ever said we can't have the milk.)

I have heard Caerpihlly comes from Wales and Monty Python were offering Venezuelan Beaver Cheese
