    On a crescent shaped Greek island, they have recently discovered a rare find - a Minoan town. Half of this island has been mined away, however, as it was a caldera, and so I would like you to answer me this: What is the name of the island, what is the name of the Minoan town, and how does it relate to the British air force?

    Perhaps you're talking about Santorini's Akrotiri, which has been undergoing excavation since the 1960's. As it turns out, there is a Royal Air Force Station called Akrotiri on Cyprus:
