    		The character was created by Johnston McCully in 1919 and Douglas Fairbanks played him in a 1920 film released by United Artists.

    		Yay, BP! Zorro being the Spanish word for fox and the film being the first by United Artists. Fairbanks was, of course one of United Artists' four founder members with his wife Mary Pickford, Charlie Chaplin and DW Griffiths.
