South Africa divides its governmental power among three capitals. Bloemfontein is the capital of the judiciary, Cape Town is the legislative capital, and Pretoria is the administrative capital.
In the Netherlands, Amsterdam was designated the capital, while The Hague and Brussels were to be the royal residence and the seat of the king's government in alternate years. In 1830 Belgium seceded from the Netherlands. From then on, the Dutch government and the king were permanently established in The Hague. Even now, however, Amsterdam remained the capital, where the king was inaugurated.
The administrative capital of Bolivia is La Paz while the legislative and judicial (also known as constitutional) capital is Sucre.
In 1983, President Felix Houphouet-Boigny moved the capital of Cote d'Ivoire from Abidjan to his hometown of Yamoussoukro. This made the official capital Yamoussoukro but many government offices remain in Abidjan.
In 1950, Israel proclaimed Jerusalem as their capital city. However, since Jerusalem is a city in dispute between Israel and Palestine, most countries maintain their embassies in Tel Aviv-Jaffa, which was Israel's capital from 1948 to 1950.
Mbabane is the administrative capital of Swaziland and Lobamba is the royal and legislative capital.
Tanzania officially designated its capital as Dodoma but only the legislature meets there, leaving Dar es Salaam as the de facto capital city.
There are one or two others, mostly in the case of moving a capital from one place to another, and the move is incomplete for whatever reason.
