This took a while, but I think I've got it.
Well-known (or subsequently well-known) singers sang backup. They were:
"No Regrets": Neil Tennant and Neil Hannon
"You're So Vain: Mick Jagger
"We Are Family": Luther Vandross
"Be My Baby": Cher
"Can You Feel the Love Tonight?": Kiki Dee, Rick Astley, and Gary Barlow
"Another Day In Paradise": David Crosby
"Running Bear": George Jones and the Big Bopper
"Crazy in Love": Jay Z (the rap)
"Pride (in the Name of Love)": Chrissie Hynde

Spot on Frankie!
I quite like the idea of the Big Bopper of "Chantilly Lace" fame doing the Indian whooping in the background on "Running Bear".

I agree -- though "Running Bear" gave me the most trouble. I started out trying various, and unfruitful, search combinations, but finally decided to look up each song separately on "Songfacts." Since I knew that Mick Jagger had sung backup on "You're So Vain," the information that Cher had done so on "Be My Baby" caused a light to go on.
But "Running Bear" wasn't included in "Songfacts," except indirectly. I had to locate that information elsewhere.

Well I did actually get the list from "Songfacts" you'll be pleased to hear, except for "No Regrets" and "Running Bear" which I knew and threw in to make it harder to Google!
