    British PM - 121,432 pounds + 57,485 pounds (as a member of Parliment) = 178,917 pounds.

    US President - $400,000 as of 2001.

I think the President should take a paycut.

At current (as of 24 AUG 05) the American President's salary is equivalent to 222,271 GBP

Or... The Prime Minister makes 321,979 USD

While $70,000 is a lot of change, the values are closer than they appear at first glance.

I should also add, that both probably also have discretionary funds for a variety of expenses that cover their duties... e.g., the grocery budget probably is paid for by the government, at least in a large part... but, I don't know that for a fact.
