In tenches, which tend to be area of deep depression in the ocean floor, which is primarily a basalt bed, the heat created by the movement of magma is lessened. In fact, it is around half of the heat that could be expected, showing that the depth of the trench consumes the heat of the magma that moves underneath the thin area of crust under the deep depression.
