According to this page, it's 58 1/2 points, but I can't tell when it happened or who were they played, as these football fans are talking in code!
In pursuit of which: kudos to the Baylor Bears, who unlike the Aggies did NOT roll over onto their backs and wave their legs in the air in the submissive position before the opening kickoff and then wet themselves before each snap. Sure, they got beat, but they at least showed up and played for four quarters, which is four quarters more than A&M showed up for.
BTW, I gather the biggest spread in college football history was 58 1/2 – and it got covered by three touchdowns, something like 91-14! It was Andre Ware’s run-and-shoot versus SMU’s first-year-back-from-the-death-penalty squad, which featured I think 70-something freshmen and another twenty or so walk-ons. I was one of those who thought the Sooners would cover the 53, but I was delighted to see the Bears step up and actually hold the Sooners below their accustomed half-a-hundred.
