Pier Francesco Orsini created the park at Bomarzo, near Viterbo, in memory of his wife Julia (née Farnese). Among other works inspired by the place are Manuel Mujica Láinez’ novel “Bomarzo,” which he adapted into a libretto for the opera by Alberto Ginastera.
