What were the names of the three daughters in the Shakespeare play "King Lear"? Also, could anyone provide a link to a site that has a summary of the play?

    Question #59289. Asked by Priscilla9.

    tjoebigham

Lear's daughters are Cordelia, Goneril and Regan. I don't know what site has a summary, but the play follows the effects of foolish Lear banishing Cordelia and letting traitorous Goneril and Regan stay, i.e. they team with Edmund, Glouchester's scheming bastard son to get the old man's throne.

    Here's a reasonably short synopsis.

Priscilla, hasn't school started...read it. You'll get more out of it than a summary.

Thanks you for your concern, mrsace...it is always appreciated. For your information, I have read the book. My favourite character is of course Cordelia. My question of providing a link for a summary is for my little sister, who wants to read the books, but is too young to understand them in Shakespeare's dialogue. She asked me very nicely to find the storyline, which I did, thanks to McGruff. Also, I got the three daughters names from tjoebigham. To them, thank you very much. I also really like the character that is the fool...the one that always speaks the truth...ironically.

    Thanks again!
