This woman, though drawn to religious life early on, married Pierre Acarie, an aristocrat and treasury official, at age 16. She was the mother of 6, one becoming a priest, and 3 who became Carmelites. She is a saint. She was devoted to the writings of Teresa of Avila. Any idea who she may be?

Marie de l'Incarnation, AKA Madame Acarie.

She was Barbe Acarie. I believe she's been beatified but not canonized yet. I could, of course, be wrong.

A novel that might interest you, Priscilla, one that features Barbe Acarie, is Henry Grunwald's "A Saint, More or Less," now available in a paperback edition from Random House.

Absolutely, Priscilla, peasy gets this yay.

Just what I deserve for spending too much time on extraneous literary issues.

I'm willing to share this banana as long as I get the good end...

I have to further elaborate on the reason for my weird humour. I am fortunate enough to go to the only uniform clad school in 3 cities thus... a very dreary, colourless predicament. Ah, but I will live :)

Er, ahem. Just what, exactly, constitutes the "good end," in your opinion, peasy?

And, Priscilla, dear, I, too spent years in dreary school uniforms. That does tend to fire the imagination, doesn't it?
