yes, if the spark has the ability to react with a inflamable substance.

Rbra, that is just answering the question "is it true?" with the statement, "yes, if it is true".
Whether "the spark has the ability to react" depends on whether the spark is hot enough for long enough to raise what is comes into contact with to ignition temperature.
Normally, the answer is probably not, but it would appear that it can happen on rare occasions.
Funnily enough, Frankie, I just found the same story.
