Who is credited with inventing the cat flap?

Apart from seeing it in "Did you know" type lists I'd like to see some respectable evidence that Isaac Newton did so. I mean, I know he had a dog called Diamond who tipped a candle onto some papers, but is there record of Newton actually having a cat? Sep 21 05, 11:52 AM

gmack, you have to get a Yay.I heard this today on the radio.Apparently Newton was very fond of cats.
