In golf what is a birdie?

    Question #59569. Asked by my_baby_love.

    ssannkovic

Par is the name given to the amount of shots it is expected to take to finish the hole. A Birdie is when you get the ball in the hole for one less stroke than par.

For example if par is four and you get the ball in the hole in three shots you have got a birdie. An Eagle is two less so for the above example you would have got the ball in after two shots. Three less strokes is called an Albertros. Don't ask me why they are all named after birds.
