Which world-wide company was named after the ruins of a place the founder was investigating on holiday, and what signifigance does its logo have with this charming building?

It's Lancome Cosmetics, peasy. Apparently the founder, Armand Petitjean, was inspired while exploring the ruins of the Chateau de Lancome in the Loire Valley. The rose logo comes from the fact that the chateau was surrounded by wild roses. (There should, of course, be a circonflex in Lancome, but I'm too lazy to bother with accents outside of my word-processing program.)
