Coined from an ancient fairy tale by a highly-imaginative architect, this word originally referred to a certain country. Though various arguments have raged over its meaning, it generally represents, today, a rather pleasant concept. What is the word, who coined it, and can you offer (anything you like) an example of it?
The word was coined in the 1600's by a scientist who liked the way it sounded against his interpretation of a Greek word, which, incidently also incorporates the second law of thermodynamics. Although there are many functions for this word, often there are two ways of spelling the plural. What is it, who was the scientist, and how is it related to an adult comic book?
I've just run across the word "syngraphics" in a specialized book by the man who had another man coin it about 40 years ago. I have three questions:
1. Who coined it?
2. Why did he combine "syn" and "graphics"?
3. Does anybody actually use this word today?
