    Is the theme to the old Ernie Kovacs show a version of George Gershwin's 1915 piece "Rialto Ripples"?

    Evidently yes. The theme was actually called "Oriental Blues," which was based on "Rialto Ripples," composed by a young Gershwin and Walter Donaldson:
