    When milk is added to Rice Crispies cereal what causes the distinct "snap, crackle, pop" sound?

    		I'd guess the walls of the grains would be softened by the milk and released large air bubbles which 'crepitate' (the technical word) making that sound.

    		If you use beer instead of milk, they go snap, crackle, burp!
