Glad you asked, Flynn.
Sophie Scholl, and her brother Hans, were members of a German student group called the "White Rose" that distributed anti-Nazi leaflets in the 1940's. The Scholls and another member of the group were arrested, tried, and executed for treason in 1943.
In the documentary film "Blind Spot," Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge commented on the fact that Sophie Scholl, who had been approximately her age, was taking a stand against Nazism at the same time that Junge was going to work for Hitler. She found that ironic:
