The classic Australian horse race, The W.S. Cox Plate, has been run at Moonee Valley racetrack in Melbourne since 1922. To date, only one horse has won the event three times (in successive years). What was the horse's name, in which years was he successful, and which three jockeys rode him to victory?

Question #60178. Asked by shady shaker.

    lanfranco

The horse was Kingston Town, and if I have this right, he was ridden in 1980 by Malcolm Johnston, in 1981 by Ron Quinton, and in 1982 by Peter Cook:

The web makes finding the answers to these questions all too easy! I wish that I had peasypod's ability - or that of gmackematix - to couch the question in such a way that those searching for the answer had to do some digging before coming up with the correct response! No offence, lanfranco, but I think it was made all to easy for you!

If you say so, shady. I'm sorry to have been such a disappointment to you.

Shady, dearest, I always thought you loathed my 'convoluted' questions? ;)
