    I am currently in a Scottish town which shares its name with the surname of its local MP. Where am I and which European Championships are often held nearby?

    		Well, a stab in the dark, (and probably not very good one at that)... But could the European Championships be the pipeband ones? If so, you're probably somewhere near Ayr...

    		Viscount John Thurso is the Liberal Democrat MP for Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross, which includes the town of Thurso. The European Surfing Championships are often held there.
