    What gases are produced when acids react with a metal?

    Question #60268. Asked by Priscilla9. (Oct 30 05 10:47 AM)

    NatalieW

    Metals that react with acids produce gaseous hydrogen:
    2Na + 2HCl -> 2NaCl + H2

    Some metals - such as silver, copper and gold - are inert and do not react with dilute acids.
