    		One of them, I understand, is showing up in court and finding out that the person who wrote the ticket is not there that day... so the judge will toss the ticket for lack of cross-examination or something similar...

    		Going into court with a sincere appreciation of the fact that you were going too fast and a previously clear record can get you off. You will still have to pay court costs.

    2) Technicality exploited.
    (ie. broken speedometer)

    3) Extenuating circumstances.
