    Around what month in 1953 did most of the public know about the discovery of the structure of DNA?

    		Well, if you consider the possibility of 'most of the public' reading Nature Magazine, I guess it would be April. But if they missed that edition, they could wait til May.

    But it could be a whole new ball game if you were in that pub in Cambridge on Feruary 28, 1953..

    		Watson and Crick published their findings on the structure of DNA on April 26th, 1953. Their theory as to DNA's structure wasn't actually proven until much later, after they'd won the Nobel prize.
