Great Britain's coxless fours team at the Olympics seemed to win by a shorter margin than that.

In fact the Great Britain's coxless pair beat Yugoslavia at the 2001 World Rowing Championships by an even narrower margin.

Incidentally, rowing boats each have a little ball attached to the bow called, unsurprisingly, a bow ball. This makes settling photofinishes a little easier.
