Michelangelo's David dates back to 1504. There is another David by another Florentine master already in the 1430s.

... Inspired by David's victory over Goliath... after all, he is holding a overlarge sword... *grin*

In the Biblical episode, David drew Goliath's sword and cut off the giant's head with it.

Which French rococo sculptor has a notorious square named after him in what was until recently Paris' most popular red-light district and is also the maker of a rather unappetising male nude portrait of one of France's best-known "philosophers" and anti-optimists?

This sculptor produced one of the world's most recognised bronzes, depicting a nude representing someone from a masterpiece poem. Nearly 15 years later, his assistant used the same model in the exact pose to create another. Who was the original sculptor and what are the two names given for this monument?

A passage from a 17th century epic poem about the fall of man inspired this statue in a pleasant retreat of a park, said to be a unique representation of the subject. What is the statue?
