    What is the difference, if any, between a syringe and a hypodermic needle?

    The hypodermic needle is the sharp bit that fits on the syringe.

    The syringe part may also be used for feedings, or giving oral medication to kids, pets...etc. The type of syringe used for this usually does not have a tip designed to accept a needle.
