Is there a certain time after which the neuron connections in your brain will not wither away, or will not using any of your neural connections for a certain time "erase" that connection so you have to rebuild again?

I guess I should post some background info. Every time you learn something, there is a pysical change in your brain. (the wrinkles in your brain have nothing to do with it... it's a myth) Neurons send dendrites (branches, connections, however you want to think of it) to other neurons and the more you use that neural connection, the more it is reinforced and the harder it is for the connection to die (not using it will make it die)... so the question is if there's a time (after so much reinforcement) when it will never die even if you never use it?

Some several thousands of neurons die every hour. But on the whole, the neurons you still have on your dying day are the same as when you were born with them.

I'm not talking about the neurons, I'm talking about the neural connections. You're born with the most number of neurons you will ever have, but you can and do have to make new dendrite connections.
