Unlimited, because if the catcher drops the ball on the third strike and the batter reaches first base safely it is recorded as a strikeout but the batter is safe.

That's correct, baby love. The MLB record for strikeouts by a pitcher in a half inning is 4 or 5, as I recall. In college, somebody got six, I think.

I WOULD SAY 27,AS THERE ARE ONLY 3 OUTS PER HALF INNING, WHETHER THE BALL IS CAUGHT OR NOT.
