Yay, with a critical remark though. Novum Belgium or Nova Belgica was actually more than just "parts" of present day New York. The whole area between Virginia and New England was called so.In this context the name Belgium refers to the ancient "Leo Belgicus" which represented the so-called "Low Countries" aka "the Seventeen Provinces".
