It is Ulaanbaatar (or in two words: Ulan Baatar). English spelling, though, is Ulan Bator. The name means "Red Hero".

Ulan Bator, or Ulaanbaatar, is the capital of Mongolia.

Ulan Bator has had numerous names in its history. From 1639–1706 it was known as Örgöö (“palace yurt”) and from 1706–1911 as Khüree (“camp”), later as Ikh or Da Khüree (“great camp”). Its Chinese name was Kulun. Upon independence in 1911, with both the secular government and the Bogd Khan's palace present, the city's name changed again to Niislel Khüree (“capital city”).
