Are there many places in the world where I could build a snowman that is likely to last all year round? [Without artificial refrigeration of course]

Question #61204. Asked by gmackematix. (Dec 24 05 7:39 AM)

North Pole, South Pole, Greenland, Northern Canada, Northern Alaska, Siberia, and Lapland.

Plus any mountain tall enough to stay snow-capped year-round.

I would object to South Pole on the grounds that I think the world's fiercest winds whipping throughout that continent would smash any snowman to smithereens.
Doesn't the North Pole ice float off into areas where it will eventually melt?
The mountain tops might work but being a bit conspicuous I fear that snowmen built on them would fall prey to human hands. Still I like the idea of a snowman on Kilamanjaro where each mountaineer who reaches the summit has to bring an extra object to adorn the snowman!

Your question says "likely to last all year round".

Strong winds could blow a snow man down any where, huge ice movements possibly could cause the destruction of Frosty, and humans could knock them down in most places.

But, all things considered, these events are not "likely".

Besides, Kilamanjaro is no longer topped with ice.

Winds capable of tearing snowmen apart around the South Pole are surely not just likely but almost inevitable, as are ice floe movements in the Arctic.

Well then subtract the North and South Poles.
