Just in case anyone thinks they have stumbled across an interesting prehistoric creature here, we are talking about a fictional fellow from Nintendo games. His name comes from the Japanese "yoshi" which can mean better, best or happy.

This is not to be confused with Hamato Yoshi, the human character who owned (or in some versions became) the rat Splinter, in the Ninja Turtle comics/cartoons/films.
