    Who was the first American TV star to earn over one million dollars a year?

    		I have come across a claim for a US talk show host of the 1960s called Mike Douglas having had this honour.
    However, other sources claim that in 1967, when "The Mike Douglas Show" was at its peak, the host was getting "over $500,000". Maybe he earned a lot from other shows?
